Mr Noel Newell | B.App Sc (App Geol)
Executive Chairman
Noel is the founder of 3D Energi and has over 40 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, with 20 years of this time with BHP Billiton and Petrofina. With these companies, he has been technically involved in exploration of areas around the globe, particularly Southeast Asia, and all major Australian offshore basins. Prior to leaving BHP Billiton in 2002, Noel was Principal Geologist, working within the southern Margin Group and primarily responsible for exploration within the Gippsland Basin. Immediately prior to starting 3D Energi he was a technical advisor to Nexus Energy Limited and directly involved in their move to explore in the offshore of the Gippsland Basin. Noel is a Director of the Australian Energy Producers.
Mr Jesse Meidl
Non-Executive Director
Jesse is an experienced investment banker, finance director/CFO, and independent audit committee chair with over 25 years of corporate finance, accounting, and advisory experience, specializing in the mining and energy sectors (including oil and gas exploration, production, and services).
He has advised on over US$2 billion in cross-border M&A and successfully raised more than US$3.5 billion in debt and equity across 50+ transactions in multiple jurisdictions. Demonstrated expertise in sourcing capital for both public and private companies, with extensive experience listing entities on global exchanges including the London Stock Exchange (AIM and Main Market), Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX and TSX-V), Hong Kong Stock Exchange (SEHK) and Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
Mr Leo De Maria | CA
Non-Executive Director
Leo is a Chartered Accountant and has been working in the FMCG industry for 14 years – initially as a Financial Accountant, then as a Commercial manager. He has extensive experience across a multitude of areas within company management. Specifically, his core strengths lie within financial management, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain optimisation and risk management.
Mr Stefan Ross | B.Bus (Accounting)
Company Secretary
Stefan has over 10 years of experience in accounting and secretarial services for ASX listed companies. His extensive experience includes ASX compliance, corporate governance control and implementation, statutory financial reporting, shareholder meeting requirements, capital raising management, and board and secretarial support. Stefan graduated from ACU in 2008 obtaining a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting.

Dr Daniel Thompson | B.Sc (Hons), PhD
Exploration Manager
Daniel Thompson is a Geoscientist with over 10 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas industry and manages all aspects of 3D Energi’s operations, including technical programs, regulatory administration, new ventures and farmout campaigns. Over his career, he has worked in high impact exploration and development roles with small operators throughout Australasia, as well as Africa. Daniel holds a PhD in Geosciences from Monash University specialising in carbonate sedimentology, having worked on lacustrine carbonate reservoirs from Brazil. Daniel has a diverse range of expertise that includes seismic interpretation, play based exploration, volumetrics and risking, and petroleum systems analysis. Daniel is also experienced in prospect maturation and well planning, playing an important role in the highly successful Mako South-1 gas discovery in Indonesia. He is currently the PESA/ASEG Young Professionals Event Coordinator and an active member of the PESA Vic/Tas and Federal Education & Awards committees.
